The Wild Goose Brews & Chews was host to the official launch of the McDonald’s Townsville Running Festival as Committee, Event Crew, Sponsors and Stakeholders partied the night away and celebrated the kick off to this iconic Townsville Event.
80 guests arrived on a red carpet at the Townsville restaurant and bar to enjoy a night of drinks, food, music, presentations and fun. Among the guests were Mayor Jenny Hill, radio personality CK from Star 106.3, representatives from charity of choice Ronald McDonald House as well as sponsors of the festival.
Mayor Jenny Hill, Committee President Tony Gordon and the Event Teams Sponsorship and Relationship Manager all gave speeches during the night to thank everyone who has had a hand in bring the Festival to life this year.
Representatives from sponsors and stakeholders, including McDonald’s, Tourism and Events Queensland, Townsville Airport, Queensland Country Health Fund and Rebel Sport let their hair down and mingled throughout the night.
Tony Gordon, President of the Townsville Running Festival committee, says the night was a huge success and was the perfect way to kick off the countdown to the Festival.
“It was an amazing night,” he said. “Everyone came together to just have fun and to celebrate, so much work goes into an event like this so it’s important to stop and have the opportunity to thank everyone who is helping out.”
“I think this has been one of our best launch parties yet, everyone had an amazing time and we love the venue here at the Wild Goose.”
Townsville radio personality CK hosted the event and kept the crowds laughing and entertained throughout the night.
“Everyone was having a lot of fun,” said CK. “This event is such an iconic part of the Townsville events calendar and so much hard work has already gone into it, so this was a great chance for everyone to have a break, let their hair down and really celebrate all they’ve done so far.”
“If this party was anything to go by, the Festival is going to be incredible this year!”
There is currently 43 days left until the McDonald’s Townsville Running Festival begins.
