Rare opportunity to ‘own’ the Townsville Marathon
A rare opportunity to secure the naming rights for the Townsville Marathon is currently up for grabs.
McDonald’s® Townsville Running Festival event manager, Scott Piper, said it was an exciting opportunity for both the Festival and a local business seeking a unique opportunity to positively impact Townsville’s community.
“The Townsville Marathon has a long, proud history and is a highlight on Australia’s running calendar,” said Mr Piper.
“It’s the second oldest Marathon in the country and attracts a large contingent of runners, not just from our own backyard but from across Queensland, interstate and internationally each year.
“Our naming rights sponsors become synonymous with their event and with the McDonald’s Townsville Running Festival in general; and they’ll benefit from being part of our comprehensive eight-month marketing campaign. It’s a great opportunity for a local business to get their name consistently in front of the community on traditional advertising platforms, digital media, race singlets and right across the event weekend in August,” Mr Piper said.
The McDonald’s Townsville Running Festival has held long-running partnerships with Tourism and Events Queensland, Townsville Enterprise and Townsville City Council; and focuses on selling Townsville as a must-visit destination for serious and social runners.
“The Townsville Marathon naming rights would suit an organisation that is passionate about seeing Townsville grow and flourish,” Mr Piper said.
